SCROLL
Before establishing Atelier Culturati in 2014, Shivani was part of the producing team at Reel Girls Media from 2007 to 2009.

She served as a Producer on the documentary AL RASHID: The Story of Canada's First Mosque.

This documentary tells the unknown story of Alberta‘s early Muslim pioneers and how their historical contribution — the Al Rashid Mosque — has touched and influenced the lives of three generations of Muslims living in Edmonton. The mosque was constructed in the depths of the Great Depression, and officially opened on December 12, 1938. At the time there were less than a thousand Muslims living in Canada, and in Edmonton the majority were Lebanese. Through memories, photographs and archival films shared by three generations of the Hamdon family and other descendants of the mosque‘s founders; we discover the roots of Islam‘s establishment in Canada.
