Shivani is the Founder, Executive & Artistic Director of Creatives Empowered (CE), overseeing and managing the implementation of CE’s Vision, Mission and Values.
Creatives Empowered was launched on November 16, 2020, with the intention of being a 'new system'. Co-created with experienced industry professionals, our extensive film, tv, media and arts experience was utilized to create a non-profit that is creative, agile, resourceful, and intelligent. We operate in a way that empowers our mission and the IBPOC artists + creatives we serve, while decolonizing the non-profit system.
The creation and existence of Creatives Empowered is a living model of social innovation.
CREATIVES EMPOWERED is the first and only non-profit organization in Alberta for film, tv, media & arts professionals who are Black, Indigenous and People of Colour; a collective of artists + creatives empowering each other as an allied community.
